Set Up Products & Pricing

Products and Pricing is the backbone of every transaction inside the platform. Whether you sell physical goods, digital downloads, online courses, or recurring service subscriptions, the product catalog gives you centralized control over what you offer and how you charge for it.

Prerequisites

Before creating your first product, confirm these items are in place:

  • A connected payment processor (navigate to Payments > Integrations and verify Stripe or another supported processor is active)
  • Admin or payments permissions enabled in your user role
  • Product media prepared (images or videos at 1024x1024 resolution, under 10 MB per file)
  • Tax settings configured if you need to collect sales tax (optional but recommended)

Connect Your Payment Processor

Without a payment integration, no transactions can be processed.

  • Navigate to Payments > Integrations
  • Click Connect with Stripe or select another supported provider
  • Log in to your payment processor account and authorize the connection
  • Once connected, click Manage to verify the integration is active

For detailed connection steps, refer to the Stripe Integration guide.

Configure Tax Settings (Optional)

If you need to collect sales tax, set your default tax rates before creating products.

  • Navigate to Payments > Settings > Taxes
  • Click Add Tax Rate
  • Enter the tax name, rate percentage, and any relevant details
  • Click Save

You can override tax behavior at the individual product level, but having global defaults saves time.

Create Your First Product

Now you are ready to build your product catalog.

  • Navigate to Payments > Products
  • Click + Create Product in the upper-right corner

Add Product Information

  • Toggle Include in Online Store if you want the product visible in your public storefront
  • Enter a clear, descriptive product name (e.g., “Monthly SEO Retainer” or “Website Design Package”)
  • Write a detailed product description using the rich text editor. Include key benefits, deliverables, and what the customer receives
  • Click Upload Media and select an image or video file from your computer. High-quality media improves conversion rates
  • Enable Product Label and enter a custom badge like “New,” “Best Seller,” or “Limited Edition” if desired
  • Assign the product to a Product Collection to group related items together (optional)

Configure Tax Settings

  • Select a Product Tax Code for automatic tax calculations during checkout
  • Choose whether to include tax in prices (display prices as tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive)
  • Attach specific tax rates if needed
  • Expand Additional Settings and customize the Statement Descriptor (the text that appears on customer bank statements)

Set Pricing

  • Enter a Pricing Name to distinguish between pricing tiers if you offer multiple options for the same product
  • Select Type: choose One time for a single charge or Recurring for subscription billing
  • Enter the Amount you want to charge
  • Optionally enter a Compare-at Price to show the original value alongside a discount
  • Select the Currency (note that currency cannot be changed after creation)
  • Enable Track Inventory if you want to manage stock levels. Enter the available quantity, and the system will automatically mark the product as unavailable when stock reaches zero
  • Add a Price Description (internal note for your team’s reference)

Add Product Variants (Optional)

If you offer different versions of a product with individual pricing:

  • Click Add Variant
  • Add an Option Name such as “Plan Level,” “Size,” or “Access Duration”
  • Enter Option Values (e.g., “Basic,” “Premium,” “Pro”) and click Done
  • Each variant gets its own Price, Compare-at Price, and Available Quantity
  • Enable Track Inventory per variant to limit how many of each option can be sold

Optimize Search Engine Settings (Optional)

Improve discoverability if the product will appear in your online store:

  • Enter an SEO Title (concise, keyword-rich title for search engine results)
  • Write an SEO Description (brief summary with relevant keywords)
  • Customize the Handle (URL slug, e.g., /product/premium-coaching-plan)

Save the Product

Click Save to create the product. It now appears in your product catalog and is ready to be added to invoices, payment links, funnels, and your online store.

Create Additional Products

Repeat the product creation process for each service or item you offer. Building a complete catalog upfront ensures consistent pricing and faster transaction setup later.

Set Up Recurring Products (If Needed)

If you offer subscription-based services, create recurring products with billing cycles.

  • Follow the same product creation steps above
  • Set Type to Recurring
  • Enter the Billing Period (weekly, monthly, annually)
  • Enter the Trial Period in days if you want to offer a free trial (e.g., “14” for a two-week trial)
  • Optionally configure a Setup Fee that is charged immediately at the time of purchase
  • Click Save

Recurring products are used in subscriptions and recurring invoices.

Test Your Setup

Before making products available to customers, verify they work correctly across all sales channels.

  • Create a test payment link using one of your products
  • Complete a test purchase in Test Mode using a test card number from your payment processor
  • Verify the product name, description, and image display correctly on the checkout page
  • Confirm the transaction appears in Payments > Transactions after the test purchase
  • Check that inventory levels decrease if you enabled Track Inventory

If the test purchase processes successfully and the product details appear correctly, your product catalog is ready for live use.

Next Steps

Now that your product catalog is set up, consider these enhancements:

  • Add products to your online store or funnel order forms
  • Create payment links for quick one-time or recurring payments
  • Set up coupons to offer percentage or fixed-amount discounts
  • Build invoices using your product catalog for faster billing
  • Configure upsell and downsell sequences in your funnels to increase average order value
