Set Up Payment Links

Payment Links let you sell products and services without building a website or checkout funnel. Create a full payment page in just a few clicks, then share the link with customers via SMS, email, social media, or any other channel. Each link generates a hosted checkout page that handles the entire transaction, from collecting customer details to processing the payment.

Prerequisites

Before creating your first Payment Link, you need:

  • At least one product configured in your account (navigate to Payments > Products to create products)
  • A payment provider connected to your account (Stripe, PayPal, or another supported provider)
  • Admin or payments permissions enabled in your user role

Connect Your Payment Provider

Navigate to Payments > Integrations to connect your payment processor. Once your products and payment provider are ready, you can start generating links immediately.

  • Click Connect with Stripe or select another supported provider
  • Log in to your payment processor account and authorize the connection
  • Once connected, click Manage to verify the integration is active

For detailed connection steps, refer to the Stripe Integration guide.

Create Your Product Catalog

Products created in your catalog flow into payment links, invoices, and funnel order forms. Set up your products first for faster link creation.

  • Navigate to Payments > Products
  • Click + Create Product
  • Enter a product name, description, and price
  • Upload an image or video (images saved to a product will automatically display on the Payment Link checkout page)
  • Set the pricing type to One time for single charges or Recurring for subscription billing
  • Click Save

Repeat this process for each product or service you offer. For more details, see the Products & Pricing guide.

Follow these steps to create and share your first Payment Link.

  • Navigate to Payments > Payment Links
  • Click Create New Payment Link
  • Enter an internal name at the top of the screen to help you identify the link in your dashboard (this name is for your reference only and does not appear on the checkout page)
  • Select a product from your catalog, then choose the specific price point
  • Configure optional settings such as quantity controls, coupon codes, and address collection
  • Click Save to publish the link

Configure Checkout Options

Payment Links offer several configuration options that control what information you collect and how the checkout behaves.

Customer Information Fields

  • Toggle Require customers to add a phone number to make this field mandatory during checkout
  • Enable Collect customer addresses to display street, city, state, country, and postal code fields (essential for physical product delivery or tax compliance)

Quantity Controls

  • Enable Let customers adjust quantities to allow buyers to choose how many units of a one-time product they want to purchase
  • Set minimum and maximum limits to control bulk orders and prevent overselling

Coupon Codes

  • Select Allow coupon codes to display a discount code field on the checkout page
  • Create and manage your coupons under Payments > Coupons before enabling this option

Call-to-Action Button

  • Customize the checkout button text using the Call to action for payment link button dropdown
  • Options include “Pay,” “Book,” “Donate,” and other labels that align with your offering

Terms and Conditions

  • Add legal or policy text that appears directly below the payment button on the checkout page using the Add Terms and Conditions option

Branding Message

  • Enable the Branding option to include a custom “Powered by” label on the checkout page

Apply Custom Branding and Theming

Customize the visual appearance of all Payment Links to match your brand identity.

  • Navigate to Payments > Settings > Payment Link Customization
  • Choose Use Brand Board and select an existing Brand Board from the dropdown to automatically apply your brand colors, fonts, and styles, or choose Choose Theme to manually set background and button colors using a custom color picker
  • Use the Live Preview Panel on the right side of the settings page to preview your changes in real time
  • Click Save to apply the theme globally across all Payment Links

Note that theming is applied globally across all Payment Links in the account. You cannot apply different themes to different links.

Once your Payment Link is saved, you have three ways to distribute it.

• Click Copy / Send to access sharing options
  • Generic link: Copy a standard URL that anyone can use (ideal for posting on social media, embedding in emails, or sharing on your website)
  • Personalized link: Generate a unique URL tied to a specific contact. Only that recipient can access the checkout page, and their details are pre-filled automatically
  • Send to contacts: Deliver the link directly via email, SMS, or both from within the platform. Select your contact, choose the communication method, and customize the message template

Personalized links are especially useful for high-value sales where you want to reduce friction and ensure the correct contact record is associated with the transaction.

Test Your Setup

Before sharing payment links with real customers, verify the end-to-end payment flow.

  • Open your payment link
  • Toggle Payment Mode to Test Mode
  • Complete a test purchase using a test card number from your payment processor (e.g., Stripe test cards)
  • Verify the product name, description, and image display correctly on the checkout page
  • Return to Payments > Transactions and confirm the test payment appears in the transaction log
  • Check that the contact record was created or updated with the transaction details

If the test payment processes successfully and the payment link details appear correctly, your payment links are ready for live use.

Next Steps

Now that Payment Links are set up, consider these enhancements:

  • Add multiple products to a single link by clicking + Add Another Product to create bundled offers
  • Set an Automatic Deactivation date for time-limited promotional offers or enrollment windows
  • Use URL parameters to pre-populate customer data (e.g., firstName=, lastName=, email=, phone=) when sending links through workflows or automated messages
  • Add redirectUrl and redirectIn parameters to control what happens after a customer completes their payment
  • Create invoices for more formal billing with line items and payment terms
  • Set up subscriptions for fully automated recurring billing with auto-pay
