Create Your Account
Go to https://carrd.co and click Sign Up. Enter your email and create a password. Carrd’s free plan lets you build up to three one-page sites, perfect for landing pages, portfolios, or personal profiles. After signup, you’ll see your dashboard where all your sites live. Carrd focuses on simplicity: no complex menus, no steep learning curve. You pick a starting point, customize it, and publish in minutes. The interface is designed for speed and clarity.
Set Up Your First Project
Click New Site and choose a template category: profile, landing page, form, or portfolio. Carrd offers dozens of pre-designed templates, all responsive by default. Select one that matches your goal, or start with a blank template if you prefer full control. Give your site a name, and Carrd opens the editor. The left sidebar contains all your site elements (text blocks, images, buttons, forms), and the right panel holds styling controls. Everything happens on a single page, so there’s no navigation between pages to worry about.
Build Your First Page
Click any element to edit it. Text blocks open inline for editing. Images can be replaced by clicking the image icon and uploading your file or pasting a URL. Add new elements by clicking the Plus button in the left sidebar: choose from headings, paragraphs, images, buttons, forms, or containers. Adjust colors, fonts, and spacing using the right panel. Carrd’s strength is its constraint: one page forces clarity. Every element can be repositioned by dragging or using the alignment tools. Preview different screen sizes using the device icons at the top.
Connect and Publish
When your site is ready, click Publish in the top-right corner. On the free plan, your site publishes to a carrd.co subdomain. For custom domains, upgrade to Pro ($19/year), then go to Settings > Domain and add your custom domain. Follow the DNS instructions to point your domain to Carrd. Carrd handles hosting, SSL, and performance automatically. You can also add custom code, analytics, and forms (with email notifications) if you’re on a paid plan.
Next Steps
You’ve launched your first Carrd site. Explore form integrations for lead capture, widgets for embedding external content, and Pro features like Google Analytics and custom domains. Carrd excels at single-purpose pages: portfolios, event signups, product launches, or personal bios. For the complete guide and advanced use cases, visit /nocode-tools/carrd.
