Adalo is a no-code platform for building native mobile and web apps with a drag-and-drop interface. It includes a built-in database, user authentication, and a marketplace of pre-built components to speed up development.

Create Your Account

Go to adalo.com and click Get Started. Enter your email and create a password, or sign in with Google. Adalo sends a verification email, so check your inbox and confirm your account.

After logging in, the Adalo dashboard displays your apps. Click Create New App and choose between Mobile App, Web App, or Progressive Web App (PWA). Mobile apps are optimized for iOS and Android, while web apps run in browsers.

Name your app and select a color scheme. Adalo offers templates like “Marketplace,” “Social Network,” or “Directory,” which include pre-built screens and data models. For learning, start with a blank app to understand Adalo’s structure.

Set Up Your First Project

The Adalo editor opens with three main areas: Screens (left sidebar), Canvas (center), and Components/Actions (right panel). Screens represent individual pages in your app, like Home, Login, or Profile.

Click Database in the top menu to create your first collection. Add a collection called “Users” or “Items” and define fields like text, number, image, or true/false. Adalo’s database is built-in, so you don’t need to connect an external service.

Under Branding, customize your app’s logo, color palette, and typography. These settings apply globally across all screens. Adalo’s design system ensures consistency without manual styling on every component.

Build Your First Screen

Select the Home Screen in the left sidebar. Drag a Text component from the right panel onto the canvas and update the text to “Welcome to Adalo.” Adjust font size, color, and alignment in the component properties.

Add a Button below the text and label it “Get Started.” Click the button and select Add Action > Link to navigate to a new screen. Create the new screen by clicking + Screen in the left sidebar and name it “Dashboard.”

On the Dashboard screen, add a List component. Connect it to your database collection by clicking the list and selecting a data source. Each list item displays fields from your collection, such as name or image. Customize the list layout by dragging fields within the list item template.

Connect and Publish

Go to Integrations in the top menu to connect external services like Stripe, Twilio, or Zapier. Adalo’s API allows you to send and receive data from any REST endpoint, enabling custom integrations.

Under Settings > App Access, configure user authentication. Enable Email/Password or Social Login (Google, Facebook, Apple). Adalo generates login and signup screens automatically, which you can customize.

Click Publish in the top-right corner to make your app live. For web apps, Adalo provides a shareable link (e.g., yourapp.adalo.com). For mobile apps, Adalo builds iOS and Android versions, which you can download and submit to the App Store or Google Play. Paid plans include custom domains and native app builds.

Next Steps

You’ve built and published your first Adalo app. Explore advanced features like custom actions for complex workflows, conditional visibility to show/hide components based on user data, and Adalo’s component marketplace for pre-built features like calendars, maps, and payment forms.
